Watercolor showing and capturing Nursing in the 1880s. This era of 1880-1900 is also known as the Victorian Era. One of the most instrumental periods in the development of the nursing profession. It was during this era that nurses expanded the role of nursing from individual level of care to a community and systems level of practice. Nurses recognized a need for public health in the community and advocated for health related initiatives.
Three famous nurses of the Victorian Era have impacted public health and current nursing practice. The three nurses are Clara Barton, Lavinia Dock, and Lillian Wald.
This watercolor abstract art piece is my visual interpretation of the nursing era. Painted on Arches Aquarelle Paper using QOR Watercolor Paint.
